The Snyder Industries 150 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Cone Bottom Mixing Tank is built for chemical and fertilizer service where the contents need to drain completely and stay blended. Molded in high density linear polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, this 150-gallon cone tank stands 48 inches tall on a 36 x 36 inch footprint and carries a black exterior that blocks light to slow algae growth and protect light-sensitive chemistry. The full cone bottom drains to the centerline so you empty the tank fully between batches instead of leaving heel behind.

Will it work for your job?

This is a cone bottom tank in the truest sense - product flows to a single low point for full discharge and easier mixing. Filled with water it carries about 1,251 pounds, and at its 1.9 specific gravity rating it is engineered to hold up to 2,377 pounds of contents. At 150 gallons that 1.9 rating means you can fill this tank with any of the chemicals below up to that 1.9 density without short-filling for volume; a lighter 1.5 SG tank would force you to leave headroom on the densest blends and heavy acids. Because a cone bottom is supported off the ground, plan the stand before the tank arrives - the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix shows which stands match Snyder cones, and the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help confirm 150 gallons fits your batch and pad. Refer to the technical drawing on this page for the cone angle and outlet detail.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded in HDLPE and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is what lets it handle the dense and aggressive chemistry below. Most chemicals here run EPDM gaskets, but sodium hypochlorite and the strong acids - hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrogen peroxide, and hydrofluoric - require Viton, and peracetic acid requires Aflas, so check the gasket column before you order fittings. DEF and peracetic acid are also the only two entries that call for 316 stainless fittings rather than the PVC or PP majority. Always confirm against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at your actual concentration and temperature, and match the fitting and gasket materials to the chemical - the wrong gasket fails long before the polyethylene does. The following are compatible with this resin and SG rating:

Ozonated water up to 10 PPM is also compatible on PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets. Browse the full Chemical Compatibility Database for service notes on each. If you are dosing or blending fertilizer, the Fertilizer-Blend Tank Stratification guide and the Tank Level Gauge Selection guide are worth reading before you finalize the setup. For secondary containment requirements, see the Snyder Captor 110% Containment vs UL-142/SPCC comparison.

The mistake to avoid

The most common error on a dense-chemical cone tank is matching the resin but ignoring the fittings and gasket. This tank's 1.9 SG rating means the polyethylene will hold the chemical, but every chemical above has a specific fitting material (PVC, CPVC, PP, or 316SS) and gasket (EPDM, Viton, or Aflas) - sodium hypochlorite and the strong acids in particular demand Viton, not the default EPDM. Spec the wrong gasket and you get a leak at the bulkhead, not the wall. Verify each value against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at your real concentration and temperature.

This tank ships LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP. Because we stock this Snyder cone in three plants - Albertville, AL, Lincoln, NE, and Merced, CA - your quote pulls from the nearest one, so the closer the plant the lower the rate. Run your ZIP through the Freight Cost Estimator to see which origin and rate you get, or call 866-418-1777 to lock in your delivery.
