Where a 53 inch tank earns its place

Fifty-three inches is the reason to buy this tank. It goes under a mezzanine, a duct run or the joists of a basement pump room, and the lid stays within reach of a person standing on the floor, so filling, inspecting and cleaning happen without a step. The 36 inch diameter fits a corner, a containment tray or the gap beside a metering pump. The heavy duty wall is for a dense liquid: an acid, a coagulant or a concentrated process chemical that a standard wall has no business holding. If what you store is water or anything close to it, a lighter grade in the same shell does the job for less, and the siblings below are where to look. Full, the tank puts 1,668 lb of water, or up to 3,169 lb at the rating, onto a 36 inch circle. Never bridge it across two timbers or set it on a pallet. Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the inspection hatch and the vent path in one, so size the vent to the pump that fills the tank; a fast fill through a lid that cannot breathe pressurizes the headspace against the gasket.
2. Outlet. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want when you order and we will confirm what Snyder fits to this moulding before anything is drilled.
3. Fill line. Run a dip tube to the floor. A stream falling 53 inches into a dense liquid foams and wets the manway threads, and on a tank with one opening a fouled gasket is the whole maintenance problem.
4. Temperature. The service limit is 120 F. For warm process liquids, the cross-linked version of this tank carries a higher limit; ask us which grade your duty needs.

Same shell, other walls, and the sizes either side

Snyder moulds the 1008000 shell in more than one wall. The cross-linked version is the 200 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 1008000N42; the standard grades are the 200 gallon black heavy duty tank 1008000C34 and the 200 gallon heavy duty tank 1008000C26, each with its own rating on its own page. For a lower space, the 190 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 1540400N42; for a little more volume on the same idea, the 210 gallon heavy duty tank 1012900C26. Decide in this order: clearance first, floor second, volume third, because the space is the one thing you cannot change after the concrete cures.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Merced, CA, 36 by 36 by 53 inches on a pallet at 65 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 1008000N51 on the bill of lading, look over the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. Where the site freezes, protect the piping and the first valve; the tank body takes ice from the top down without harm.
