Low and wide, for places a tall tank will not go

Four feet of height for 200 gallons is what this mould is for. It fits under a lean-to roof, a deck, a low ceiling in a pump house, or inside a utility trailer with a roof, and the top stays at chest height, so filling and dipping it from the ground is easy. The cost is floor space: 40 inches across is wider than a standard doorway, so check the route from the truck to where it will sit.

The black wall keeps light out of the tank. Water stored outside in a black tank grows far less algae than in natural white, and liquids that break down in sunlight are protected. Black also takes on heat in direct sun, and this tank's service limit is 120 F, so in a hot climate give it shade and keep warm liquids out of it. What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A full tank at its rated density is over a ton and a half. It needs a flat, level surface in full contact with the base; our concrete pad sizing guide explains when to pour a slab.
2. Openings. No outlet or manway size is stated for this tank on this page. Tell us the pipe size and connection you need, and we will confirm the openings from Snyder's drawing before it ships.
3. Level. You will not see the liquid through black polyethylene, so plan a sight tube or a gauge.
4. Restraint. At 63 lb empty it can blow over; strap it down before the first fill.
