Where it goes

A tall, narrow 250 gallon tank is a floor-space tank. At 34 inches across it fits through a standard doorway on its side and stands in a pump room corner, a treatment building or a skid, and at 83 inches tall it still leaves headroom under most ceilings for the lid and a fill line. Typical duty is a day tank behind a metering pump, a chemical feed for water treatment, or a reserve of a liquid that must not see light. The double wall is the containment, which is the reason to pay for it over a single wall 250 gallon tank where a spill plan or an inspector asks for secondary containment.

Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Lid. A 14 inch threaded vented lid on top, for a fill line, a suction lance or a level sensor. The vent lets air in and out as the level changes; keep it clear.
2. Outlets. No factory outlet is listed for this tank. If you need a fitting, tell us the size, material and position before the order; on a double wall tank a fitting passes through both walls and is set at the factory, not drilled on site.
3. Level. A black wall hides the liquid level, so plan a gauge, a sight method or a sensor through the lid.
4. The floor. Close to two tons full at the rating on a 34 inch circle. Set it on a flat, level, continuous slab.
