Why black, and why a cone

Black is the choice when light does harm. Sodium hypochlorite loses strength in sunlight, some crop protection products degrade in it, and water left in a translucent tank in the sun grows algae. A black wall stops all three. The trade is that you cannot see the liquid line through it, so you check the level from the top or with a gauge.

The cone does the other half of the job. It draws the whole batch to one point at the bottom, so the tank drains clean between mixes and nothing stays behind in a flat corner to contaminate the next batch. At 30 gallons it suits test batches, day tanks beside a dosing pump, small sprayers and pilot or lab work.

The 1.9 rating covers dense mixes up to 1.9 times the weight of water, where polyethylene suits the liquid.
