Where it goes

This size suits day tanks and feed tanks: a chemical dosing station at a well or a treatment skid, a process room that receives drums or totes and decants into something contained, a shop floor where a spill cannot be allowed to reach a drain. The 1.9 rating covers liquids nearly twice the weight of water, and the 140 F limit gives some room for liquids that run warm. If your liquid is close to water in weight, a lighter rated tank is the cheaper choice; ask us before you order.

At 63 inches tall the manway is within reach from a step, so filling, dipping and inspection happen without a platform. The 53 inch body will not pass a single doorway, so measure the route to the room before the tank arrives. The floor or pad has to carry roughly 5,705 lb at the full rating on a 53 inch circle, flat and continuous under the whole base; a slab with a crown or a crack under one edge loads the wall unevenly.

Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the inspection point and the vent, so never seal it shut while the tank is filling or drawing down.
2. Outlet. No outlet or fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the line size, the valve and whether you draw by pump or by gravity, and we will confirm with Snyder what this part number carries.
3. The liquid. Check it against our chemical compatibility guide and give us the concentration. Gaskets and valves are chosen against the liquid, and a weep nearly always starts at a fitting, not at the wall.
4. The space between the walls. No leak detection is listed with the tank. Decide how you will check the space between the walls and write the schedule down. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.

Other 360 gallon versions, and the sizes either side

Snyder builds this 360 gallon double wall body under several part numbers that differ in resin and colour: the 360 gallon black double wall tank 5760102N51, the 360 gallon XLPE black double wall tank 5760102N48 and the 360 gallon sulfuric acid double wall tank 5760102N30. Each page states its own rating and temperature. One size down is the 275 gallon sulfuric acid double wall tank 5740102N30; one size up, the 405 gallon XLPE double wall tank 5990702N42. Order by part number, because the names repeat.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 250 from Snyder's Marked Tree, Arkansas plant, 53 by 53 by 63 inches on a pallet at 250 lb. A forklift or two people with a pallet jack can move it at the dock. At the tailgate, check the bill of lading against 5760102N42, look over the outer wall and the manway threads for transit damage, and photograph anything you find before you sign. Set it on the prepared pad, fill it with water first, check the manway seal and the base, then drain and dry it before it carries anything else.
