A short tank for an indoor dosing room

At 63 inches tall the whole tank stands under about five and a quarter feet, and the manway is at chest height. An operator can open it, dip it and look inside from the floor, with no ladder and no platform. That is the reason to choose this shape: it goes under a mezzanine, a low roof truss or a run of pipework, and it suits a chemical feed or metering station where someone checks the level every shift. The trade off is floor area; at 53 inches across it needs a little more than a four and a half foot circle of slab, plus room to walk round it. Black keeps light out of the contents. What to check before you buy

1. Slab. Up to about 5,705 lb of contents on the 53 inch base. Flat, level, continuous concrete, with no joint or shim under the tank.
2. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway for filling, inspection and cleaning. It breathes through the vent as the tank fills and empties, so keep that path open and never tape it shut to hold in an odour.
3. Outlet and fittings. This part number lists no outlet size. Tell us your pipe size and how the pump draws, and we confirm the fitting with Snyder. The drawing linked under Technical Drawing on this page shows the layout.
