What to check before you buy

1. The size. 4 inch slip fit. It has to match a 4 inch socket on the tank fitting it goes into; tell us the fitting and we confirm the pair.
2. The drop. How far down the tank the tube needs to reach depends on the tank height and how low you want to pull from. Measure from the top fitting to the point you want to draw from and tell us that figure; confirm the supplied length against it before the order ships.
3. The liquid. CPVC suits water and many common chemicals and takes more heat than PVC. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before you order.

Installing it

Dry-fit the tube in its socket and check that it hangs clear of the tank wall and any agitator or float before you solvent weld anything. A siphon tube only pulls as long as the pump keeps the prime, so plan the pump and a foot valve or check valve as one system. Keep the bottom of the tube off the tank floor so it does not pick up sediment, and prove the draw with water before the working liquid goes in.
