Why buy the pair

A cone bottom tank cannot stand on its point, so every cone needs a frame under it, and matching a frame to a tank is where projects slip. Where it goes

Cone bottoms go where complete drain-down matters: batch mixing, a chemical day tank rinsed between products, settling duty where solids leave through the apex, or a feed tank for a pump that must never run on a heel. At 4,600 gallons this is a plant, co-op or treatment works tank. The tank alone is 154 inches tall, close to thirteen feet, and the stand lifts the whole assembly higher, so measure your clear height and your doorway before the order, not after the truck arrives. The floor carries the full tank through the stand legs as point loads; with 38,364 lb of water plus the tank and frame on top of them, that is a slab question. Have the slab checked for that load before the truck is booked.

What to check before you buy

1. The liquid. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals. Check yours in the chemical compatibility guide; cone buyers ask most about sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride and phosphoric acid. Liquids heavier than 1.7 times water need a heavier duty tank.
2. The temperature. Snyder's limit is 100 F. If the process runs warmer or the tank sits in full sun in a hot climate, call first.
3. The outlet. The apex fitting takes your valve and fixes your drain time. Snyder's drawing, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the outlet position, the cone geometry and the stand footprint; confirm the fitting size with us before buying the valve.
4. The manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill from a hose, fit a level sensor, inspect by hand.
5. Anchoring. Ask us about tie-down for the stand if the tank sits outdoors or in a seismic region; the stand carries the tank, the anchors keep the stand where it was set.
