What a 30 gallon inductor tank is for
An inductor tank is a make-up tank. You pour a concentrate or a soluble product in through the manway, add water, stir or recirculate, and draw the finished mix off the bottom into a sprayer, a drum or a dosing line. At 30 gallons it suits a single sprayer load, a day's worth of a treatment solution, or a small chemical feed that is remade every shift. The 57 degree cone matters when the product settles: powders that are slow to dissolve and suspensions that drop solids collect in the cone and go out with the last gallon instead of staying behind as sludge. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals are the normal loads. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your valve or hose adapter threads straight into it. Fit the valve before the first fill, and support the valve and hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to pour from a bag or a jug, drop a mixer shaft through, and get a brush inside to clean between products.
- The stand. Norwesco pairs this tank with stand N-63397. The stand holds the cone at the right angle and sets the outlet high enough to get a valve and a container underneath. Order it with the tank unless you already have a cradle cut to a 57 degree cone.
