What the steep cone is for
The steeper the cone, the less material it leaves behind. On a 45 degree slope, settled solids slide to the outlet instead of building up on the cone, so this tank is the one to choose for wash water with grit, a fertilizer suspension that settles, a slurry, a batch that leaves sediment, or a separation step where the heavy fraction is drawn off the bottom first. It also drains clear liquids completely, which makes product changes quick. The 1.5 rating covers water and the many ambient-temperature liquids up to half again as heavy; the 100 F limit rules out hot fills. The steep cone costs height. On a 90 inch circle the shell is 139 inches tall, and the cone stand under it is tall on purpose to leave room for a valve, a pump or a drum under the outlet. - Weight per gallon. Specific gravity times 8.34. A slurry is heavier than its clear liquid, so weigh a sample if you can; up to 1.5 is within this tank's rating.
- Temperature. 100 F (37 C) maximum.
- The stand. Sold separately. Ask us about a stand for 5100000N43 when you order.
- The outlet. No outlet fitting is listed for this part number. For solids, a full-bore valve at the low point drains best; tell us the line size and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank carries.
- The manway. 18 inch, threaded and vented.
