A 1000 gallon 45 degree cone bottom tank for full drain batching
The Norwesco 1000 gallon 45 degree cone bottom tank, part number 43852, is a white polyethylene tank 72 inches in diameter and 89 inches tall, weighing 239 lb empty. The 45 degree cone is the steep one: it empties fast and completely and carries settled solids out with the liquid, which is what a mixing or batching tank has to do. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The rating is 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. It needs Norwesco's stand, part number 63934, sold separately. Where a steep cone earns its height
Fertilizer blending, polymer and treatment chemical batching, brine make-up and anything that drops solids are the jobs for a 45 degree cone. The tank is 89 inches tall before the stand goes under it, so measure the ceiling, the door and the route in before you commit; a high bay or an outdoor pad is its natural home. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, brine and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Check the liquid in the chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; urea solution, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride and sodium bisulfite are the entries buyers of this size ask about. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Fit the valve before the tank is seated in the stand and support the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway: fill, float, a mixer bracket, and a hand and a brush for cleaning.
- Stand. Norwesco's stand 63934 is made for this cone. Its height sets the clearance under the outlet, so measure the valve, pump or drum before the order.
