The Norwesco 750 gallon 45 degree cone bottom tank, part number 41495, is a natural white polyethylene tank 52 inches in diameter and 105 inches tall, weighing 160 lb empty. It is a tall, narrow tank on a steep cone: the 45 degree angle empties fast and completely and carries settled solids out with the liquid, and it does that on a floor circle only 52 inches across. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 12 inch threaded vented lid on top. The rating is 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. It needs Norwesco's stand, part number 41493, sold separately.

Why a 45 degree cone, and what it costs you
Choose the angle by what has to come out. A 45 degree cone is for mixing and batching fertilizer, polymer or treatment chemicals, for liquids with solids that settle, and for any process where the next batch cannot sit on the last one. The price is height: 105 inches of tank before the stand goes under it, so this is a tank for a high bay or an outdoor pad, not a low plant room. Measure the ceiling, the door and the route in first. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, brine and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Check the liquid in the chemical compatibility guide first; urea solution, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, polyaluminum chloride and sulfuric acid are the entries buyers of a steep cone ask about. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Fit the valve before the tank goes into the stand and support the first length of pipe on its own.
- Lid. A 12 inch threaded vented lid. It takes a fill hose, a float or a probe; it is not a manway, so plan on cleaning by flushing through the cone.
- Stand. Norwesco's stand 41493 is made for this 45 degree cone. Its height sets what fits under the outlet; measure the valve, pump or drum before you order.
