The Snyder Industries 6000 Gallon 30 Degree Cone Bottom Tank (SKU SII-5280200N43) is a white polyethylene cone bottom tank rated for a 1.5 specific gravity, built for full-drain processing and chemical batching where you need the contents to empty completely through the cone instead of pooling on a flat floor. It stands 136 inches tall and 142 inches across on a 142 x 142 inch footprint, with a 30-degree cone that pitches solids and sediment toward the outlet. This is the larger sibling to the cone bottom tanks covered in our buyer's guides, and it requires a structural support stand sized to the full cone (sold separately from the tank itself).

Will it work for your application?

Filled with water this 6000 gallon tank carries roughly 50,040 lbs, and at its 1.5 specific gravity rating it is engineered for contents up to about 75,060 lbs - so size your slab, stand, and rigging against the heavier number, not the water weight. The tank comes configured with a flange, a 12" x 13" fitting, an 18" PE threaded/vented opening, and a manway with 15" access. The 18" PE threaded/vented fitting is your fill and vent point - the vent matters because a sealed 6,000-gallon poly tank can balloon or collapse if the breathing path can't keep up with your transfer pump flow, so confirm it's sized for your fill and draw rates. The 15" manway access is the only top entry for inspection and cleanout, and it's the limiting dimension for anything you plan to drop inside - mixer shaft, dip tube, or level sensor.Use our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide to confirm capacity and head pressure before you commit, and see the technical drawing on this page for exact fitting placement and cone geometry.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is polyethylene rated to a 1.5 specific gravity. The resin shows as HDLPE in our data with an unresolved flag, so confirm whether your tank is high-density linear (HDLPE) or cross-linked (XLPE) polyethylene before putting it into chemical service - the two resins differ in how they hold up to certain oxidizers and solvents. At a 1.5 SG rating, this tank is suited to acetic acid (60%), aluminum sulfate (50%), calcium chloride (40%), diesel exhaust fluid / DEF (32.5%), ferrous sulfate (20%), magnesium chloride (30%), sodium carbonate (30%), urea solution (50%), and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM).Match the fitting and gasket to the chemical: most of these call for PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets, while acetic acid and urea solution accept PP or PVC with EPDM, and DEF should run 316 stainless with EPDM.Ozonated-water service is supported at the listed dilution but doesn't yet have a dedicated compatibility page, so call 866-418-1777 to confirm rather than reading the silence as unsupported.Always cross-check against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature, since both shift the rating.

See our pages for acetic acid, aluminum sulfate, calcium chloride, DEF, ferrous sulfate, magnesium chloride, sodium carbonate, and urea solution, or browse the full Chemical Compatibility Database.

The mistake to avoid: don't run a heavier chemical out of spec

The most common error on a tank like this is assuming a 1.5 SG rating covers every chemical. It does not - and the limit is structural, not just chemical. This shell tops out at roughly 75,060 lbs of contents; a denser fluid at 1.5 specific gravity would push the same shell well past that rating.Ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, and zinc orthophosphate all require a higher 1.5 specific gravity tank.Stepping up to the 1.9 SG version is necessary but not sufficient: several of those fluids also need their gaskets re-spec'd.Hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and sulfuric acid need Viton gaskets (with CPVC fittings for sulfuric), and peracetic acid uniquely needs Aflas gaskets with 316 stainless fittings, rather than EPDM.If your service fluid is on that list, order the 1.9 SG tank with the correct gasket and fitting materials rather than running this one out of spec.Review sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, and the other 1.9 SG chemicals on their compatibility pages before ordering.
