Where it fits
This is the 750 to buy when you have a normal amount of room: a pad beside a shop, a corner of a barn with a tall door, a greenhouse header tank, a water reserve for a house on a well. The 48 inch base needs a flat, level, continuous surface, and because it carries 9382 lb at full rating, a concrete pad or well compacted gravel is the right foundation, not blocks. The manway is 103 inches up, so plan a ladder or a fill line plumbed to the top, and fit the float switch or level gauge before the tank goes into service. What goes in it
Water, rainwater, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Keep the contents below 120 F and below 1.5 times the weight of water; heavier liquids belong in Norwesco's heavy duty tanks. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware, and turn the tank so the outlet faces the pipe run before the first fill, because a full tank does not turn.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in and to get a brush inside. The vent lets air out as you fill and in as you draw down; never plug it.
