The Bushman 500 Gallon Plastic Vertical Rainwater Harvesting Tank in Green (MPN BM-30272) is a dedicated rainwater harvesting tank used by homeowners, landscape contractors, sustainable-building operators, and code-jurisdictions requiring stormwater retention.

Design

  • Filter-screen inlet on top prevents leaf, debris, and large-particulate entry into the catchment
  • Screened overflow outlet near the top edge directs surplus capacity to surface drainage
  • Tap or spigot port near the base provides gravity-fed dispense for irrigation and non-potable use
  • UV-stabilized opaque polyethylene minimizes algae growth in stored rainwater
  • Earth-tone color options (dark green, dark brown, mocha) blend with residential and landscape settings

Installation

Set on a level concrete pad or compacted base ring sized at least 6 inches wider than the tank diameter. Position downstream of the gutter or surface-collection assembly with a first-flush diverter to keep early debris-laden runoff out of stored water. Route the screened overflow outlet to a daylight discharge, rain garden, or dry well sized for the catchment area's 10-year storm. For non-potable irrigation use, a downstream filter is sufficient; for potable reuse, install UV or chlorine treatment per local code.

Common applications

  • Vehicle and equipment wash-down water using captured rainwater
  • Toilet-flush and laundry greywater pre-treatment reserve
  • Greenhouse and nursery propagation irrigation supply
  • Livestock watering supply from captured rainwater (non-potable for animal use)
  • Fire-protection auxiliary reserve fed by rainwater catchment
  • Residential rainwater harvesting downstream of gutter collection for irrigation and non-potable use

Compatibility & compliance

Rotomolded HDPE wall meets ASTM D1998 standards. For non-potable rainwater use (irrigation, vehicle wash, livestock), no certification is typically required beyond local code. For potable rainwater reuse, install downstream UV or chlorine treatment and verify the tank carries NSF/ANSI 61 listing for potable service.

Shipping

Ships LTL freight from the nearest manufacturing plant. ZIP-specific freight quotes are available through the freight estimator or by phoning 866-418-1777 with MPN BM-30272.
