Chemical compatibility
This is a polyethylene tank with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is exactly what lets it carry the densest liquids most tanks cannot. The 1.9 rating is the reason to choose this tank over a water-grade 1.5-SG unit: 98% sulfuric acid (SG near 1.84) and 85% phosphoric acid essentially require this rating to be hauled full and legal. The resin is recorded as HDLPE but is not fully confirmed, so confirm HDLPE vs XLPE with us before chemical service - XLPE resists strong oxidizers such as sulfuric acid, peracetic acid, and sodium hypochlorite substantially better, and the two are not interchangeable for those three. Compatibility is rated by chemical, concentration, and the right fitting and gasket materials; always check the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature before committing a load.
This tank ships without fittings, so specify your bulkhead and valve in the fitting and gasket material shown for your chemical when you order. A simple gasket rule covers most of the list: EPDM for the salts, glycols, DEF, and urea solutions; Viton for the strong acids and oxidizers (hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, hydrofluosilicic, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric, sulfuric, and sodium hypochlorite); and Aflas only for peracetic acid.
