The mistake to avoid
The fitting and gasket material is chemical-specific, not one-size-fits-all. Notice DEF and peracetic acid call for 316 stainless, sulfuric acid needs CPVC, and several acids and oxidizers — hydrochloric, phosphoric, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, sulfuric — require Viton gaskets rather than EPDM.
