On the truck
At 48 by 37 inches the tank sits across a full size pickup bed or along the floor of a service van, and at 29 inches tall it clears most bed caps; measure the opening and the height under the cap, and allow for the manway cap on top. Full of water it weighs about 1300 lb with the tank, so the vehicle's payload, not the tank, is the limit on a half ton truck. Strap it over the body with the straps clear of the manway, and give it a lip or a frame to sit against so it cannot slide under braking. What goes in it
Diluted pesticide, herbicide and termiticide mixes, liquid fertilizer and clean rinse water are the normal loads, and polyethylene handles all of them. Check any concentrate or solvent carrier in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in. Keep the liquid under 120 F. The wide manway is the reason to buy this version if you switch between products: a tank you can reach into gets cleaned, and a tank that gets cleaned does not carry last week's herbicide onto this week's lawn.
Openings and fittings
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill, the vent and the cleanout together. Keep the cap on and tight on the road; it is the vent, so never seal it with anything else.
- Outlet. None installed. Tell us the pump you are feeding and where the suction runs, and we quote a bulkhead fitting of the right size for the tank's low end; a bulkhead fitting needs a flat area of wall at least as wide as its flange.
- Agitation and return. If your pump returns a bypass to the tank for agitation, that is a second fitting, usually high in the wall. Plan both before the order so they arrive together.
