Norwesco 1700 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

A short, heavy duty tank that fits indoors

At 74 inches tall this tank goes where most heavy duty verticals will not: inside a chemical shed, a mix room, a barn bay under a loft, or a container, with the manway opened from the floor. That makes it a frequent pick for a liquid fertilizer day tank, a water treatment chemical feed tank, a brine tank or a dairy wash chemical tank. If the liquid is plain water or rainwater, the standard duty 1700 gallon tank does the same work with a thinner wall and a 3 year warranty, and the heavy duty wall buys nothing. The trade for the low height is a wider base: a circle just over seven feet across that needs a flat, continuous pad. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizers, brines, many acids and bases, and water. The 1.9 rating is about weight, not chemistry: check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in, and keep the contents under 120 F, because polyethylene softens as it warms and the rating assumes that ceiling. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware. A 2 inch outlet is fine for a pump feed or a gravity drain; it is slow for a fast gravity transfer into a sprayer.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached standing on the floor. The vent lets air move as the level changes; a pump pulling against a plugged vent can collapse a wall.
3. Inlet. No separate inlet fitting is installed. Tell us before the order ships if you want a fill fitting at a set height.
