Where it goes and what it holds

Two thousand gallons in a tank seven feet tall is the household and small farm answer to a low roof: hauled water storage in a shed, a rainwater cistern under a barn eave, stock water beside a well house, or irrigation buffer at a market garden. At 84 inches the manway opens from a step and the whole tank clears most shed headers; at 90 inches across it needs a flat, continuous, level pad under the entire base, because a full tank is more than eight tons of water and polyethylene follows whatever it is set on. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or pump suction threads straight in; a 2 inch line is plenty for a house, a stock water line or a drip system. Support the valve and the first length of pipe within a foot of the wall so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill from a hose, drop a float or a level sensor in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. Leave the vent clear so air can move as the level changes.
3. Extra ports. Only the one outlet comes installed. An overflow, a second draw or a top fill port means extra bulkhead fittings; tell us when you order and we quote them with the tank.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from Norwesco's Washougal, Washington plant as a 90 by 90 by 84 inch load weighing 300 lb. Two people can walk it off a liftgate and roll it on its base to the pad. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP.
