Where the tall 1500 fits

At 116 inches, the manway sits a little under ten feet up, so this is a tank for a pump house with a tall roof, a fertilizer yard, a chemical room, a row of tanks along a wall, or an outdoor pad where height does not matter and floor space does. Plan a platform or a fixed ladder for whoever fills and inspects it. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. A 2 inch ball valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Dry-fit it facing the pipe run, tighten, and support the first length of pipe on its own.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It takes a fill line, a float switch and a cleaning brush. Keep the vent clear; a tank that cannot breathe can pull its own wall in on a fast drawdown.
3. Liquid and temperature. At or below 1.5 specific gravity and at or below 120 F. A full tank at the rating limit weighs 18765 lb. Heavier liquids need the heavy duty version below.
