Norwesco 2500 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Where it goes and what it holds

This is the farm and co-op fertilizer tank size: liquid nitrogen solutions, starter blends and the mix water beside a sprayer fill station, where the liquid is denser than water and the tank is filled and drawn down all season. It is also the size a small treatment plant or a process shop buys for a chemical day tank. At 95 inches across and 91 tall it sits low enough to open the manway from a short step and fits under most shed roofs. For plain water the standard wall tank in the same mould costs less; the heavy duty wall earns its keep when the specific gravity climbs or when you want the longer warranty. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall, with a 2 inch reducer so the same fitting takes either a 3 inch or a 2 inch line. Use the full 3 inch bore when you are loading a sprayer or a nurse tank against the clock; the 2 inch reducer suits a pump suction or a gravity feed. Support the valve and the first length of pipe within a foot of the wall so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill from a hose, drop a float or a level sensor in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. Leave the vent clear.
3. Extra ports. Only the one outlet comes installed. A recirculation return, a second draw or an overflow means extra bulkhead fittings; tell us when you order and we quote them with the tank.
