Why heavy duty, and why this shape

Full of water this tank holds 20850 lb of liquid; full of a liquid at the 1.9 rating limit it holds about 39620 lb. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. A 2 inch ball valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Dry-fit it facing the pipe run, tighten, and support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for the fill line, a float switch and a cleaning brush. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes as the level moves.
3. Liquid and temperature. At or below 1.9 specific gravity and at or below 120 F. Check anything other than water against polyethylene before the first fill.
