Where it goes and what it holds
Three thousand gallons is the size where a tank stops being a household item and becomes plant equipment: a fertilizer storage tank at a farm or an applicator yard, a chemical bulk tank behind a treatment building, a brine or process water tank at a shop. The heavy duty wall is what makes this tank right for those loads; liquids denser than water put more hoop stress on the wall near the base, and the 1.9 rating is built for it. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall, with a 2 inch reducer so the same fitting takes either a 3 inch or a 2 inch line. Pick the line size from the pump or the fill rate you need, then thread the valve straight in. Support the valve and the first length of pipe within a foot of the wall so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a float or level sensor, and cleaning access. Leave the vent clear so air can move as the level changes.
- Extra ports. Only the one outlet comes installed. A recirculation return, a second draw or an overflow means extra bulkhead fittings; tell us when you order and we quote them with the tank.
