Where it goes
On a pest control or lawn care truck, in a skid sprayer frame on a utility vehicle, or on a bench in the shop as the mix station that fills hand sprayers. On a vehicle the tank needs a cradle or a frame bolted to the bed and a strap over the shell; 417 lb of water on the move is enough to shift anything that is not tied down. At 23 inches tall, check the height under a tonneau cover or a cap before you order. In the shop, set it on a flat, continuous surface at a height where the lid is easy to reach with a jug in one hand, and put a drip tray under the suction fitting. Where the tank sits in the sun all day, the white wall lets you see the level but lets light in, so do not leave a mix standing in it longer than the label allows.
What goes in it
Water with pesticide, herbicide, termiticide or liquid fertilizer concentrate, mixed per the product label: water first, concentrate in through the lid, top up and agitate. Polyethylene handles these mixes well. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water are outside the rating. Rinse at the end of the day, and follow the concentrate label for what to do with the rinse water. Openings and fittings
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top: pour from a jug, fill from a hose, get a hand in to clean. The vent lets air in as the pump draws so the walls are not pulled in on a long spray run.
- Suction take-off. Norwesco's data for this tank lists no outlet fitting. Tell us where the pump suction will come off and we confirm what the tank ships with and what bulkhead fitting you add. Dry-fit the fitting, point it where the hose runs, then tighten by hand plus a quarter turn.
