Two plants, one class, and the freight on a low wide shipment

Take the lane first on this one, because it is the part of the decision most people leave until last and then pay for. Four 1000s, a 750 and an 1100

Four listings share this exact 81 by 81 by 69 inch shell at the identical 500 pounds, and what separates them is the name, the colour and the material field the maker assigns. We print each name as the sheet spells it, brackets included, and explain none of them, because a name is not a specification and this page will not guess one out of a suffix. Describe the product and the strength to us and we will name the part number to order. Two of the four are black and two are not, and that is a daylight decision rather than a chemistry one: black keeps the light off the contents, opaque white lets an operator read the working level through the wall, which on a vessel whose only opening is a manway on top is very often the only level indication anybody has. That row holds a tenth more than this one on a narrower plan, and it asks for real access in exchange. If the floor is scarce, price it and cost the platform in at the same time. If it is not, this 81 inch shell stays the easier tank to fill, inspect and clean for the whole of its life.

The eighteen inch manway is the fill point

• The fill opening: an 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, and it is the only opening this sheet publishes. That makes it the fill route, the inspection route and the cleaning route at the same time, so plan the fill connection, any suction and any instrument you want to drop in as one arrangement before the tank is set.
• Reaching it: the top of the shell is at 69 inches, which puts the manway within reach of a low platform rather than a fixed ladder. Bring the fill connection down to working level so a driver never climbs, and agree where that connection lives at the same time as the tank position.
• The vent: the manway is listed as vented, and that path is what protects the wall while a fill pushes air out and while a pump draws the level down. Keep it clear, look at it whenever the manway comes off, and never restrict it.
• The outlet field: it reads 1 Manway / Lid, which names an opening and not a pipe size, and the inlet field is blank. No outlet dimension, thread, bulkhead, flange or valve is published on this sheet and none is claimed here. Give us the duty and the line size and we will confirm what this part number carries before a pump is specified.

Disinfection rooms and dosing bays

A thousand contained gallons in a low wide shell goes to sites that take a full hose fill and dose continuously between them: disinfection and chemical feed rooms at municipal water and wastewater works, package and small municipal treatment plants, pool and aquatics plant rooms, food, beverage and dairy sanitising chemical stores, laundries and vehicle wash sites at scale, cooling tower and boiler house stations, and industrial process lines standing on a yard pad beside the building. This is the volume at which a site stops handling totes with a forklift entirely and starts buying at a bulk chemical cost per gallon instead, and the saving is counted per truck drop rather than per container. The opaque white shell earns its place in those rooms for one practical reason: the level can be read from the floor, and a level that can be read is a level that gets read before somebody orders the next load. Agree the receiving procedure when you buy the tank, not on the first fill: where the driver connects, who watches the level, and what the stop point is.
