That 1.9 rating is the top tier of Snyder's range, which is what lets a single tank hold dense acids and concentrated salt solutions that lighter-rated vessels cannot. Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded HDLPE and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating. HDLPE (high density linear polyethylene) and XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) resist different chemistries, so always match your chemical to this resin specifically. The biggest mistake on a chemical tank is matching the tank but not the fittings and gaskets, so think in gasket classes: EPDM covers most salts and glycols; Viton is for the oxidizers and strong acids; Aflas is called out for peracetic acid; and DEF, peracetic acid, propylene glycol, and zinc orthophosphate want 316 stainless metal fittings rather than PVC.

Note the pattern: sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and sulfuric acid need Viton, not the EPDM that works for most salts, and DEF and peracetic acid call for 316 stainless.
