Acid storage under six feet tall

Snyder names this tank for sulfuric acid service; we repeat the name and add nothing to it. The material is listed only as polyethylene, so the concentration and temperature you plan to store are the questions that decide the fit, and we want both before you order. The shape works for an indoor chemical room: 67 inches tall puts the manway in reach from a step, and the 73 inch base spreads the weight. Sulfuric acid at full strength is close to twice the weight of water, which is why the 1.9 rating matters here. Typical homes are pH control at a water or wastewater plant, a boiler or cooling tower, battery and metal finishing work, and fertilizer blending. What to check before you buy

1. The pad. Up to about 11,880 lb on a 73 inch circle. The concrete pad sizing guide sets out the slab framework; no joint under the tank.
2. Manway and vent. The 18 inch threaded vented manway takes the fill line and a level device. Acid fumes need somewhere to go; if the tank is indoors, tell us and we talk through the vent routing.
3. Fittings. No outlet size is listed for this part number. Fittings on an acid tank are chosen with the acid in mind, so we settle them with Snyder at order time. The drawing linked under Technical Drawing on this page shows the tank.
4. Temperature. Snyder's limit is 120 F. Dilution heats acid; dilute elsewhere and let it cool before it goes into this tank.
