Where it goes

This is bulk contained storage for a disinfection program that takes hypochlorite by the tanker load: a municipal water or wastewater plant, a large industrial treatment system. The name is Snyder's; the information we hold gives no concentration limit, so tell us the strength you receive and we will confirm the tank is right for it before you order. The opaque wall keeps light off the contents, which is why this version exists alongside the natural white ones. The 120 F limit means ambient storage.

At this size the ground is the project. Up to 198,075 lb on a 142 inch circle wants a designed slab on a designed subgrade, poured and cured before the tank is scheduled. At 274 inches tall, the manway needs a fixed ladder or platform with fall protection, and an indoor location needs that height plus working room above.

Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill point, inspection point and vent. Hypochlorite gives off gas as it ages, so the vent must stay clear.
2. Outlet and fill. No outlet, fill connection or fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the truck fill arrangement, the suction size and the valves, and we will confirm with Snyder what this part number carries.
3. The liquid. Give us the product and strength and check it in our chemical compatibility guide; gaskets and valves have to suit it as well as the wall.
4. The space between the walls. No leak detection is listed with the tank. Specify it separately and inspect on a written schedule. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships at freight class 250 from Snyder's Lincoln, Nebraska plant, 142 by 142 by 274 inches at 9,500 lb. At 274 inches it is far too tall to ride upright on a highway trailer, so it travels on its side as an oversize load. A load this size may be routed to us by phone rather than priced online; call if the estimator sends you there. Plan the route, the crane and the set position before it leaves the plant, and lift only as Snyder's handling instructions direct, never by the manway. At the tailgate, check the bill of lading against 1031100N52. Set it plumb on the cured slab, fill it with water and hold the 104,250 lb test load while you check the base and the manway seal, then drain, dry and inspect between the walls before the first delivery.
