The Snyder Industries 150 Gallon Sodium Hypochlorite (UV) Double Wall Tank (SKU 5710102N52) is a self-contained secondary-containment vessel built specifically for sodium hypochlorite service, with UV-stabilized, HDLPE resin (#880059) molded in an opaque white finish. It stands 62 inches tall on a compact 34 x 34 inch footprint, so 150 gallons of storage occupies barely more than eight square feet of floor. The double-wall construction places a full containment shell around the primary tank, so you get built-in secondary containment without a separate berm or dike.

Will it work for your install?

Check the weight before you pour a pad. Filled with water this tank carries roughly 1,251 lb; loaded to its full 1.9 specific-gravity rating the contents alone reach about 2,377 lb. That 1.9 SG rating is meaningful headroom for hypochlorite duty: trade-strength sodium hypochlorite runs well under that density, so the rating is a durability and safety margin, not a requirement to fill the tank with a 1.9-density fluid. The load rides on the 34 x 34 inch footprint, so a level, engineered base sized for the point load matters more than square footage. Our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match this weight to your space, and the concrete pad sizing framework (ACI 360R-10) covers the base itself. Note that usable volume on a double-wall tank sits below the 150-gallon nameplate once freeboard is accounted for — the Snyder Captor freeboard walkthrough (ASTM D1998) gives you the real number you can plan around.

Fittings and access

The technical drawing on this page shows the two openings on this tank: a 14-inch PE threaded and vented top opening, and a manway with 11-3/8-inch access for cleaning and inspection. Those are the only openings on the drawing — there is no side outlet or bulkhead fitting listed, so plan to add any fill, drain, or outlet connections yourself. Elastomer selection matters for hypochlorite service because it attacks many gasket and fitting materials, so confirm fitting positions against the drawing and confirm gasket and fitting-material compatibility with us by phone before you plumb it.

One thing not to get wrong

Match the tank to its duty. This is a UV-stabilized double-wall sodium hypochlorite containment tank molded in HDLPE #880059 and rated to 1.9 SG — do not treat it as an ordinary single-wall water tank. If you are planning a containment or SPCC install, read the Snyder Captor SPCC 40 CFR 112 walkthrough first so the containment volume and freeboard line up with your requirements.
