Snyder Industries 15000 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

A narrow yard and a heavy liquid

This is the tank for a fertilizer retailer whose pad is boxed in by an existing shed, a mine or industrial site storing a dense concentrate where the floor is the constraint, a municipal plant fitting bulk chemical inventory into a footprint laid out decades ago. Snyder also puts 15,000 gallons in another shell; this one stands 234 inches tall, so the yard has to take a tall tank and the crane has to reach over it. On the ground the 1.9 rating sets the slab: a rotationally moulded floor bears on its whole floor, so 237,690 lb lands on a 142 inch circle at a higher bearing pressure than a wide tank puts down. What to check before you buy

1. The density. The volume is what to check first and the density second, and the pad drawing comes after both. The 1.9 rating is a limit; above it, or above 120 F in service, tell us and we will point to the right tank.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid, its density and what the pipe run has to do, and we will confirm the draw-off before anything is drilled. The base piping sits on its own stand off the slab with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 234 inches off the pad: a fixed platform with a rail and a gate or a caged ladder to a landing, and a fill connection landed permanently at the manway with a dip tube to the floor.
