Where it goes

Sodium hypochlorite is a common disinfectant at water systems, pools and wastewater plants, and it is a hard liquid to store: it loses strength with heat, light and time, and it gives off gas as it breaks down. That is why it gets its own tank. A 1,550 gallon size suits a plant that takes bulk deliveries and wants to use each load before it weakens; size it to your usage, not to the biggest tank that fits. The 76 inch footprint fits a chemical room, and 136 inches of height suits most single storey buildings with room above for the fill. What to check before you buy

1. Venting. The 18 inch threaded vented manway lets air in and gas out. Hypochlorite off-gasses, so the vent and the room ventilation matter; never seal the tank.
2. Fittings. No factory outlet is listed. Tell us the outlet, fill and instrument connections before the order; on a Captor they pass through both walls and are installed at the factory.
3. Level. Opaque white hides the level, so plan a gauge or a transmitter.
