The Snyder Industries 1600 Gallon XLPE Heavy Duty Cone Bottom Tank is built for storing aggressive chemistry that ordinary water tanks cannot hold. Molded in natural white crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) and rated to a 1.9 specific gravity, this cone bottom tank carries a true 1,600-gallon working capacity in a 95-inch by 95-inch footprint, standing 72 inches tall. The full cone discharge means the tank drains completely, so you get full recovery of product and an easy-to-clean interior with no flat-bottom dead zone where solids settle.

Will it work for your application

The numbers that matter: with water at a 1.0 specific gravity, a full tank weighs about 13,344 pounds. Because the XLPE wall is rated to a 1.9 specific gravity, the maximum rated contents weight climbs to roughly 25,354 pounds when filled with denser chemistry. That headroom is the whole point of crosslinked resin on a cone bottom tank, and it is the spec to check before you commit. Chemical compatibility

This is an XLPE tank rated to a 1.9 specific gravity, which is why it crosses over from water duty into chemical service. Always confirm your specific chemical, its concentration, and your operating temperature against the OEM chemical-resistance chart and the Chemical Compatibility Database before filling, because compatibility is concentration- and temperature-specific. Two of the most-searched applications for this tank are DEF at 32.5 percent and urea solution at 50 percent, and each calls for different hardware: DEF runs on 316 stainless fittings with EPDM, while urea solution takes PP or PVC fittings with EPDM. The mistake to avoid

The most expensive error on a tank like this is reading "XLPE" and assuming any fitting will do. The resin survives the chemical, but the gaskets and fittings often do not. Hydrofluosilicic Acid needs Viton, not the EPDM that works for the salts and glycols; DEF and propylene glycol need stainless or PP rather than PVC. Match the fitting and gasket to the chemical, not just the tank. The second mistake is treating the 1.9 rating as a ceiling you can ignore.
