At its 1.5 SG rating, this tank pairs with the following chemicals at the concentrations and trim materials below: Acetic Acid at 60% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Aluminum Sulfate at 50% (PVC, EPDM), Calcium Chloride at 40% (PVC, EPDM), DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) at 32.5% (316SS trim, EPDM gaskets), Ferrous Sulfate at 20% (PVC, EPDM), Magnesium Chloride at 30% (PVC, EPDM), Sodium Carbonate at 30% (PVC, EPDM), Urea Solution at 50% (PP/PVC, EPDM), and Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM (PVC, EPDM). If you are storing DEF or urea, note the upgrade: DEF runs at 32.5% and calls for 316SS trim rather than the PVC default, so match the wetted hardware to that requirement. Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank

Several common process chemicals exceed what a 1.5 SG tank should carry and require a 1.9 SG tank instead. If your service involves Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, or Zinc Orthophosphate, do not put it in this 1.5 SG tank. The trim escalates too: Sulfuric Acid calls for CPVC body penetrations with Viton gaskets, Peracetic Acid needs 316SS trim with Aflas gaskets, and Sodium Hypochlorite, Hydrogen Peroxide, and the hydrofluoric acids all require Viton rather than standard EPDM. The mistake to avoid

The single most common error on a cone bottom tank is matching the SG rating to the water weight instead of the chemical weight. A fluid at 1.5 SG weighs 50% more than water, and this tank is rated to exactly that ceiling, not beyond it.
