Where a tall 300 fits

Buy this shape when floor space is the constraint: a chemical day tank beside a metering pump in a water or wastewater plant, a boiler treatment tank, a brine tank for a softener bank, a wash water or process reserve in a shop, or a rainwater or well reserve in a utility room. The 35 inch diameter is the number to check against the door and the gap between other equipment; the 80 inch height is the number to check against the ceiling, with room above the manway to open it. A tall narrow tank is less forgiving of a poor base than a squat one: a high spot under one edge becomes a visible lean and loads one arc of the base. Set it on a flat, continuous, level surface that supports the whole 35 inch circle. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, pump suction or hose adapter threads straight in. On a tall tank the head at the outlet is higher than on a squat tank of the same volume, so support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own and put a flexible connector before the first rigid joint.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float or a level sensor in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. Keep the vent clear so air moves as the level changes.
3. Extra ports. Only the one outlet comes installed. An overflow, a fill port or a second draw means another bulkhead fitting; tell us when you order and it goes on before the tank ships.
