The Norwesco 305 Gallon Pick Up Truck Tank puts 305 gallons into a deliberately low shape: 30 inches tall, 58 inches wide, and 60 inches long. That 30-inch height is the whole point. It rides low in a pickup bed or on a skid, keeps the center of gravity down for safer hauling on rural roads and field two-tracks, and tucks under most bed rails and topper lines. If you are moving water for stock, spraying, or jobsite supply, this is the Norwesco low-profile hauling tank built for exactly that.

Will it work for your hauling job?

This is a white polyethylene tank molded for water service with a 1.5 specific gravity rating, so the wall is built to carry liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water. Filled with water the contents weigh 2,544 pounds; the tank is rated to a maximum contents weight of 3,816 pounds, which is the real headroom figure for water and other water-compatible liquids up to that 1.5 SG ceiling. The footprint is 58.0 x 60.0 inches, so you know exactly what bed or skid space to plan around before you buy. One boundary to respect: this is a water tank. Liquids denser than 1.5 SG, or any chemical service beyond water, are out of spec here. If you are hauling a heavier fertilizer or a chemical, call us and we will point you to a higher-SG or chemical-rated tank instead.

Match the tank to the truck, not just the gallons

The most common mistake on a truck tank is treating capacity as the planning number. It is not. At full water you are already adding 2,544 pounds to the vehicle, and your deck, tie-downs, and suspension have to carry that plus the tank. Size the load against your truck's payload rating, not the tank's volume, and secure it for transport so a low center of gravity actually translates into a stable load. Our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide work you backward from gallons to weight to the right setup, and the Norwesco low-profile hauling tank series guide walks through field operations, securement, and procurement for this exact family. See the technical drawing on this page for outlet and fitting placement, and seal any bulkhead fitting with the correct gasket torqued to the tank wall before you run a transfer line, since that connection is the single most common leak point on a hauling tank.

Setting it on a pad between hauls

If the tank lives on a stationary pad rather than riding full-time in the bed, give it a flat, fully supported base. For above-ground placement the concrete pad sizing guide covers the ACI 360R-10 framework, and if you are building a fill or transfer station the loadout pad engineering guide covers slope, curb, and sump design so a routine transfer never becomes a spill event.

This tank ships LTL freight on a pallet, quoted live to your ZIP. Norwesco molds it at multiple plants, so we ship from the location nearest you among Sheldon, IA, St. Bonifacius, MN, Lancaster, OH, and Shawnee, OK, which is what sets your LTL number. Get an exact figure with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we will quote freight to your delivery ZIP and confirm the right low-profile tank for your truck.
