The Snyder Industries 35 Gallon ASTM Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank is a compact 35-gallon vertical tank molded from high density linear polyethylene, standing 36 inches tall on a 22 x 22 inch footprint. Rated to a 1.9 specific gravity, it carries far heavier liquids than plain water without stressing the wall, which is why it works for both routine water storage and denser solutions. Filled with water it holds roughly 292 pounds, and at its 1.9 SG rating the tank is built to carry up to 555 pounds of contents.
Will it work for your setup?
The small 22-inch square footprint makes this vertical storage tank easy to place on a pad, in a truck bed, or inside a utility building where floor space is tight, while the 36-inch height keeps the working level up where you want it. The technical drawing on this page shows the fittings: a 6-inch PE threaded/vented top fitting and a cap with a 4.5-inch access opening for filling, venting, and monitoring. If you need a bottom outlet, bulkhead, or gasketed drain, tell us your liquid and we will confirm the compatible fitting and gasket before you order. The black color helps limit light penetration and algae growth for outdoor or semi-shaded water storage. If you are not sure this 35-gallon size matches your draw-down and refill cycle, run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator or read the Tank Sizing Guide before you order.
Match the weight to your liquid
The mistake to avoid on a rated vertical tank is treating the 1.9 specific gravity number as a target rather than a ceiling. It means the tank can safely hold liquids up to 1.9 times the density of water, but your pad and any stand still have to carry the full contents weight, up to 555 pounds here plus the tank itself. At 1.9 SG this is Snyder's heavy-duty wall spec: a standard 1.5-SG vertical would top out around 438 pounds of contents versus 555 pounds here, so if you are storing anything denser than water this is the tank that keeps the safety margin. Size your concrete or platform for that loaded figure, not the empty tank, and because this is an ASTM-rated tank, leave freeboard above the fill line. Our guide on ASTM D1998 freeboard sizing and our walkthrough of concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks cover getting the base and the usable volume right the first time.
Freight and ordering
This tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Marked Tree, Arkansas, and freight is quoted live to your ZIP rather than bundled into the list price. Enter your ZIP in the Freight Cost Estimator for a rate to your door, or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will build the quote with you. Whether you need it for well-water buffering, remote-site supply, or a compact black vertical storage tank for a heavier solution, we will confirm the right fittings and the freight before you commit.
