Snyder Industries 4400 Gallon ASTM XLPE Black Vertical Storage Tank

A seven and a half foot circle, fifteen feet tall

This is the shape for a site with floor to spare in one direction only. The 90 inch circle fits a containment bay, an aisle or a corner, and in return the manway is a little over fifteen feet up, which means a fixed ladder to a platform with a rail, a permanent fill connection at the top, and room above the lid for the vent. Four walls come out of this mould, and for water, fertilizer and everyday chemicals this is the one to buy: a rating you never load is wall you paid to make and freight you paid to move; take the heavy duty version only when the liquid is genuinely dense. Strap the tank to structure or to anchors cast into the slab while it is empty at 1,100 lb. What goes in it

Openings and fittings

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway at the top of the shell: room for a permanent fill connection, a float or sender, and a hand and brush inside to clean. Run a dip tube to the floor so the fill stream does not free-fall fifteen feet and foam the headspace, and keep the lid threaded shut between deliveries.
2. Outlet. Tell us the liquid, the flow and the pump at order and we confirm the outlet this tank is supplied with before anything is drilled. Fifteen feet of liquid gives a transfer pump real suction head: mount it below the outlet, fit a low level float so it stops before it draws air, and carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to the shell.
3. Vent. Sized to the delivery pump, not to the nearest port, and piped outdoors on anything that fumes.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant in Lincoln, NE, 90 x 90 x 182 inches and 1,100 lb on the truck. It arrives lying down and has to be stood up, so plan a crane or a loader with straps under the body, never a sling through the manway, and tie it down before the crane is released. Check the part number against 5210000N46 on the bill of lading. Fill it with water first, hold it, and watch the base and every fitting before the working liquid goes in.
