Three ways to buy the 4,500 low tank

Same mold, same 900 pounds, same 4,500 gallons; what you are buying is the wall and the color. Seven feet seven inches of lift to the lid

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway at 91 inches, on the ladder lugs the sheet lists. That is a short fixed ladder and a small platform, not a lift, and it is the single most useful thing about a low tank. Fill down a dip tube run to the floor, and vent outdoors and sized to the delivery pump on anything that fumes.
• Outlet: the sheet gives the outlet field as 1 Manway / Lid. No bottom fitting diameter, thread, material or gasket is listed anywhere on it, so the draw-off is confirmed at order with the liquid named, never assumed from the family.
• Structure: eight lifting lugs, ladder lugs, one flange line on the sheet.
• Service limit: 140 F / 60 C.

Because the lid is only seven and a half feet up, this tank gets dipped, looked into and maintained far more often than a tall one, and that is worth more over a decade than any spec on the sheet. The flip side is head. With 91 inches of body there is very little liquid pressure at the floor, so a transfer pump belongs below the level of the draw-off with a short, straight run to it, and a low-level cutout keeps it from pulling air on the last few inches. Whatever connection is confirmed at order, the first valve carries on its own support off the pad and the link to hard pipe stays flexible, so pump vibration and thermal movement never load the tank wall. Keep the lid shut between deliveries, put the name of the one liquid on the shell, and light the band of wall above the liquid line every time it is open.

What a 52,542 pound rating buys

At 1.35 this is a tank for water and for the large family of solutions no denser than that: process and makeup water, a nutrient or fertilizer solution at a co-op under a shed roof, a cleaning solution at a food plant with a low ceiling, rinse water on a plating line. Class 400, 900 pounds, and the first fill
