The Snyder Industries 4600 Gallon 15 Degree Cone Bottom Tank (SII-8050100N43) is a closed-top, full-drain vessel built in white High Density Linear Polyethylene with a 1.5 specific gravity rating, putting it squarely in the bulk chemical and process-storage class rather than plain water service. The 15-degree cone floor empties to the center so you are not chasing settled solids or heel out of a flat bottom, and the 102-inch by 102-inch footprint with a 164-inch overall height delivers 4,600 gallons of working volume in a compact pad area. If you are weighing this cone bottom tank against a 30- or 45-degree cone for faster, cleaner discharge, walk through the geometry in our cone bottom tank buyer's guide on degree selection before you commit.

Will it work for your load and your stand?

A cone-bottom tank carries its entire contents on the cone and the supporting steel, so the weight math matters more here than on a flat-bottom unit. Filled with water this tank reaches about 38,364 lbs, and at its full 1.5 SG rating the contents alone run to roughly 57,546 lbs. Size your stand and foundation to that maximum rated number, not the water figure. Note that the 1.5 SG rating governs the allowable density of the contents, not the volume - the tank holds 4,600 gallons regardless, so a 1.4 SG product fills to the same level while loading the stand to roughly 53,700 lbs. Because the cone shape puts that entire load on the stand, confirm the structure is rated for your specific chemical's weight using the Tank Sizing Calculator and our Tank Sizing Guide, and check stand fitment in the cone bottom tank stand compatibility matrix. For fill, vent, level, and drain layout that keeps maintenance and contamination problems out of the picture, see our fitting placement strategy guide. Fitting locations and sizes are not pre-configured in this listing - confirm the outlet, manway, and top-fitting schedule with us at 866-418-1777 or on the technical drawing on this page before ordering.

Chemical compatibility

This is an HDLPE tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity. At that rating it suits a defined set of chemicals at the concentrations below, each paired with the fitting and gasket materials that hold up in that service. Always confirm against the manufacturer's chemical-resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific.

The mistake to avoid: assuming a 1.5 SG cone tank covers every chemical. It does not. Heavier or more aggressive media require the higher 1.9 SG version, and the gasket choice changes with the chemical. Sulfuric Acid needs the 1.9 SG tank with CPVC fittings and Viton gaskets; Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach), Hydrochloric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hydrofluoric Acid, and Hydrofluosilicic Acid all call for Viton rather than the standard EPDM; Peracetic Acid steps up again to 316SS fittings and Aflas gaskets. Other 1.9 SG media in this family - Ethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Thiosulfate, and Zinc Orthophosphate - run on EPDM but still require the heavier-rated tank. If your application involves any of those, do not order this rating; specify the 1.9 SG version. Verify your exact chemical, concentration, and temperature in our Chemical Compatibility Database before purchase.

Freight and ordering

This cone tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Marked Tree, AR, with the rate quoted live to your ZIP code - not bundled into the list price. Storing a regulated chemical?
