Why a 30 degree cone at 3000 gallons

At 3000 gallons a flat bottom tank leaves a lot of product behind in the heel and a lot of sediment in the corners. The 30 degree cone fixes both: it moves settled solids and viscous product toward the outlet better than a 15 degree cone while adding less height than a 45. Chemical batching, fertilizer and suspension blending, water treatment make-down and any process that needs a complete drain and a clean rinse between batches are the usual homes. What goes in it

Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating admits the dense ones. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; the entries cone bottom buyers ask about most are sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, polyaluminum chloride and potassium hydroxide. Openings, fittings and the stand

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone. Your valve threads straight into it. Fit the valve before the first fill and support the pipe run on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a mixer mount or a float, and cleaning access.
3. The stand. Part number N-64076, sold separately. It cradles the cone at 30 degrees and lifts the outlet high enough for a valve and a hose. The floor under it must be flat, level and continuous, with no drain or joint under the feet.
4. Headroom. The tank is 123 inches tall before the stand lifts it. Measure the ceiling, the door and the fill pipe route before you order; this is the height at which a cone tank stops fitting in an ordinary room.

The tank ships as oversize freight, 123 by 96 by 96 inches on its side, 510 lb, from Norwesco's St. Bonifacius, Minnesota plant. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. A stand ordered with the tank travels with it. Have a forklift or a loader ready when the truck arrives. At the tailgate, check the part number against 40172 on the bill of lading, look over the cone and the outlet fitting for transit damage, set the tank in its stand, level across both diagonals, and fill with water the first time before it carries anything else.
