The 1.5 cross-linked 5,500, black, the lightest tank on the ten foot base

At 1,155 pounds the Snyder 7000000N46 is the lightest black cross-linked tank we list on a 120 inch base, and light is a virtue on the freight line and under the crane. It holds 5,500 gallons at 132 inches tall, molded at Lincoln, Nebraska and Philippi, West Virginia, in a wall rated for a specific gravity of 1.5 on the sheet: 68,805 pounds of contents against 45,870 for water, with the cross-linked resin's 140 F / 60 C service limit. An 18 inch threaded, vented manway at eleven feet, a 3 year warranty, freight at class 300. Hypochlorite, fertilizer solution and warm brine by the tanker, under a low roof, in the dark.

Two plants and the lightest lane at this volume

The lane is short because there are two plants, and cheap because the tank is light. Lincoln, Nebraska covers the Plains, the upper Midwest and the Mountain West; Philippi, West Virginia covers the Atlantic states, the Southeast and the Ohio Valley; the order goes to the nearer one, and the freight cost estimator prices the lane to your ZIP before you order. At 120 inches across and 132 inches long on the deck it is a permitted load, and at 1,155 pounds it is a forklift lift at the pad, not a crane day. Full at the rating it puts 68,805 pounds, more than thirty tons, on a ten foot circle, and a rotationally molded floor bears on the whole slab, so the pad is engineered per the concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to 110 percent where the liquid is regulated. A light tank is also the one the wind moves most easily when empty; strap it to structure before the first fill and check the straps after the first windy week and the first summer. The black wall keeps light off the load, runs warmer than white in the sun, and hides the level, so a sender read at the ground is the gauge. The tank sizing calculator checks 5,500 gallons against feed rate and delivery interval; the tank sizing guide covers the reserve and the freeboard a warm liquid needs.

Same shell, different walls: the 5,500s

Three of these four cross-linked tanks weigh 1,155 pounds or less, and the wall is what you pay for. The N48 carries the top rating on its own sheet at 1,450 pounds for liquids that are dense and aggressive at once; this N46 is rated 1.5, enough for hypochlorite, fertilizer solutions and most treatment chemicals, at three hundred pounds less; the N40 is the 1,155 pound tank the sheet lists without a color word; and the N42 is listed as heavy duty at 750 pounds, which the sheet gives and we print. Buy this one when the liquid is under 1.5 and either runs warm or is hard on a linear wall over seasons. For a lower roof, the 7000400C26 lays 5,400 gallons down to 91 inches on a 142 inch base, and the 5250000N40 puts 5,600 gallons of cross-linked wall at 102 inches on the same wide base.

Height or floor the limit? The table has both shapes; freight to your ZIP is quoted on each row, or call 866-418-1777 with the site.

A manway at 132 inches, a step or a platform

  • Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway at 132 inches, eleven feet up. A rolling stair reaches it; a fixed platform with a rail is the answer where the lid opens more than a few times a year. Fill through a dip tube to the floor, vent outdoors on a liquid that fumes, size the vent to the delivery pump.
  • Outlet: the sheet's outlet field reads 24, a bare number with no size, thread or material attached; we print it as given. Name the liquid at order and the bulkhead fitting, gasket and bolting are specified to it, with a flexible connector to hard pipe and the first valve supported off the pad.
  • Service limit: 140 F / 60 C.

An eleven foot manway is the height at which people stop building platforms and start leaning ladders, and a ladder against a polyethylene wall scars the wall and drops the person. Put the level on a sender at the ground, the sample on a tap in the outlet line, and the fill through the dip tube, and the lid opens for inspection only. Eleven feet of head keeps a transfer pump set below the outlet flooded to the last few inches; a low-level float stops it before it draws air. The lid stays shut between deliveries, the wall carries the chemical's name, and the headspace band gets a light at every opening. Where it freezes, the valve and the first pipe run get trace heat or insulation; the body takes ice from the top down.

Light-sensitive liquids in the middle densities

Sodium hypochlorite at a water or wastewater plant with a low chemical building, a nitrogen solution at a co-op, warm brine at a food plant, and the process liquids at an industrial plant that stand in the sun and run above the temperature a linear wall likes. Where a reuse system doses a treatment chemical between its storage stages, the industrial water reuse tank topology article shows where a chemical tank this size belongs. It is not the tank for a fire reserve; the fire-water reservoir design guide covers what a fire reserve wants, though water is well inside the rating.

Eleven hundred and fifty-five pounds by flatbed

The 7000000N46 ships from Lincoln, Nebraska or Philippi, West Virginia as freight at class 300 as the sheet lists it; at 120 inches across and 132 inches long on the deck it is a permitted load, the listed price is before freight, and the freight cost estimator prices the lane from the plant that will mold it. A forklift with long forks or a small crane sets 1,155 pounds on the pad with straps under the body, never through the manway, and the straps to structure go on before the truck leaves. Fill it with water to the manway once and hold it, watching the pad edge and the outlet fitting, then drain and dry before the chemical goes in. Put the part number on the maintenance log the day it lands. The vent screen is the cheapest part on the tank and the one that saves it; look at it every time the manway opens.
