A 6500 gallon XLPE double wall tank for dense liquids that run warm
Snyder part number 5670000N48 is the crosslinked polyethylene 6500 gallon double wall tank at the full 1.9 specific gravity rating with a 140 F (60 C) service limit. Warm and dense together is a narrow specification, and this is the version written for it. The inner tank and outer containment shell are moulded as one unit, 120 inches in diameter, 199 inches tall and 5,300 lb empty, with an 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. 6500 gallons of water weighs 54,210 lb; at the 1.9 rating the contents can weigh 102,999 lb. Snyder backs it with a 3 year warranty. The colour is black, which keeps light off the contents.

Where it goes
Process plants rather than water works: concentrated treatment chemical held at temperature, caustic and acid on process lines, plating and metal finishing, pulp and paper, mineral processing, and clean-in-place make-up in food and beverage plants where the solution is kept hot. In all of them the second wall is bought for the floor underneath, and the 120 inch circle fits a bunded corner or a gap beside a process line that a wider tank will not. The pad is a designed slab: up to 102,999 lb on a ten foot circle, level and continuous across the whole footprint, cured before the truck is booked. Indoors, measure the clear height at the final position with a platform and the fill connection allowed for above the 199 inch shell. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy
- Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. A warm headspace moves more air for the same change in level, so keep the vent path clear and look at it whenever the manway is opened. Access at 199 inches means a fixed ladder or platform with fall protection, designed with the installation.
- Outlet. No outlet or fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the line size, the valve and the pump arrangement when you order and we will confirm with Snyder what 5670000N48 carries and what can be added before it ships.
- Temperature at the fittings. Say so if the liquid runs near 140 F. Gasket material, valve seats and flexible connections are chosen against temperature as well as chemistry; a warm-service weep almost always starts at a fitting, not the wall.
- Level. Black wall, no visual level. Choose the low level cut-out with the pump and mark the stop level before the first fill.

Each page states its own figures; if the liquid is cool or near the weight of water, one of them is likely the better buy. Shipping and receiving
The tank ships LTL at freight class 250 from Snyder's Lincoln, Nebraska plant, 120 by 120 by 199 inches at 5,300 lb. Walk the route for height before the truck is booked, and lift from the base with a crane or a forklift that has the reach; never by the manway. Set it plumb on the cured slab, fill with water, hold the 54,210 lb load while you read the manway seal and the base, then drain, dry and inspect the space between the walls. Note the ambient and liquid temperature at that first fill with the date. Check the bill of lading against 5670000N48 at the tailgate.
