Batch and mixing tanks are engineered for active fluid blending — chemical dilution, fertilizer preparation, surfactant compounding, polymer make-down, and any process where you fill, agitate, dose, and discharge. Top-entry agitator port, anti-vortex baffles, and a total-drain bottom geometry distinguish a true batch tank from a passive storage vessel. Compliance & Standards
Typically rotomolded to ASTM D1998; FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 resin compliance varies by model (see each product's Specifications). Agitator-equipped tanks must be specified with a properly rated top-mount agitator bridge — bridge load and torque go through the tank top, so OEM-rated bridges (not field-fabricated) are required. NSF 61 models available for batched potable-water chemistry.
Engineering & Selection
Three batch-tank specifications matter most. (1) Bottom geometry — cone (15°/30°/45°), dish, or flat. Cone gives total drain for clean batch-to-batch changeover; flat is cheaper but leaves residue. (2) Anti-vortex baffles — required for mixers above ~100 RPM, prevents air entrainment and improves blending efficiency. (3) Top manway and ports — agitator entry, fill, vent, level sensor, dosing return. Confirm port count and BSP/NPT thread spec against your instrumentation.
