The shapes, and when each one is right

Nineteen verticals lead: Norwesco's 48 by 103 inch mold with the 16 inch manway, Snyder's and Chem-Tainer's own molds, in natural, black, blue and green, with 1.5 and 1.9 walls. The comparison table puts manway, rating and resin side by side.

Cone bottoms drain to the last gallon on a stand, the shape for mixing and anything you cannot leave in the tank. Holding and septic tanks, six of them, are below-grade vessels with risers. Rainwater bodies take a downspout. The few leg tanks and the loaf are the vehicle shapes, and at 750 gallons that is a trailer, not a pickup.

Install day

Set the tank on a level, compacted base that supports the whole bottom; cone bottoms go on their stand, bolted down. Leave the threaded vented manway as the vent unless you add a dedicated one, and never seal it under a pump suction.

Fit bulkheads at the molded flats with the gasket on the wet side, pipe with a flexible connection, and support the pipe so the tank never carries it. Keep the drawing on the job; the 3D model on this page is traced from the hero tank's own drawing.
