The Enduraplas 2800 Gallon White Horizontal Sump Bottom Leg Tank is a low-slung haul-and-store tank built for moving liquid by trailer or skid: 145 inches long, 97 inches wide, and 75 inches tall, riding on integrated legs over a sump bottom so contents drain toward the outlet instead of pooling. Molded in natural white polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, this is a heavy-duty horizontal leg tank rated for dense fluids well past plain water - the kind of horizontal tank operators search for when a standard utility tank or plain horizontal won't carry the weight.
Will it work for your liquid?
Capacity is 2,800 gallons and the footprint is 97.0 x 145.0 inches, so confirm your trailer deck, skid frame, or pad clears that span before you order. Two weight numbers drive sizing: full of water the tank carries 23,352 lb, and the shell is rated to a maximum contents weight of 44,369 lb at its 1.9 specific gravity rating. To check your own liquid, run 2,800 gallons x 8.34 lb/gal x your fluid's specific gravity - if that number lands under 44,369 lb the shell is rated for it, but you still have to size axles, hitch, and ground support to that loaded weight, not to water. A tank that holds the volume but overloads the trailer is the classic mistake on a unit this size. Run your numbers through the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before committing.
Chemical compatibility
This tank is natural white polyethylene at a 1.9 SG rating. The resin family is listed as HDLPE but is not fully confirmed - confirm whether this shell is HDLPE or XLPE with us before putting any chemical into it, because every compatibility claim below hangs on that resin, and different polyethylenes resist aggressive chemicals differently. Per the OEM chemical-resistance chart (always concentration- and temperature-specific), the following are compatible at the noted concentrations, with the recommended fitting and gasket materials:
- Acetic Acid 60% - PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Aluminum Sulfate 50% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Calcium Chloride 40% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- DEF 32.5% - 316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ethylene Glycol 100% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ferric Chloride 50% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ferric Sulfate 60% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ferrous Sulfate 20% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Hydrochloric Acid 37% - PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Hydrofluoric Acid 48% - PP/PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Hydrofluosilicic Acid 26% - PP/PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Hydrogen Peroxide 50% - PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Magnesium Chloride 30% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Peracetic Acid 30% - 316SS fittings, Aflas gaskets
- Phosphoric Acid 85% - PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Polyaluminum Chloride - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Potassium Carbonate 50% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Potassium Hydroxide saturated - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Propylene Glycol - PP/316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sodium Bisulfate - PVC/PP fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sodium Bisulfite - PVC/PP fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sodium Carbonate 30% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sodium Hypochlorite under 16.5% - PVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Sodium Thiosulfate 40% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sulfuric Acid 98% - CPVC fittings, Viton gaskets
- Urea Solution 50% - PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Zinc Orthophosphate - PP/316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
Two groups catch people out. First, the seals are not all the same: most lines call for EPDM, but the oxidizers and strong acids - Hydrochloric 37%, Hydrofluoric 48%, Hydrofluosilicic 26%, Hydrogen Peroxide 50%, Phosphoric 85%, Sodium Hypochlorite under 16.5%, and Sulfuric 98% - require Viton, and Peracetic Acid 30% is the one line that specifically requires Aflas. Second, several chemicals will not take a standard PVC bulkhead: DEF 32.5% and Peracetic Acid 30% call for 316 stainless, Sulfuric Acid 98% calls for CPVC rather than PVC, and Propylene Glycol and Zinc Orthophosphate list PP or 316 stainless. Match the fitting and gasket to your actual chemical and service temperature - a Viton or Aflas seal where the chart calls for it is not optional. See the full chemical compatibility resource and verify against the concentration you run.
Freight and ordering
This tank ships LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP, from the plant in Neche, ND. Get an exact number from our Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777 and we will work it out with you. Fitting and outlet locations are not in our spec data for this unit, so refer to the technical drawing on this page to confirm where the outlet, sump, and bungs land before you plumb it. If you are spec'ing a leg or applicator tank for fertilizer haul-and-spread duty, our guides on applicator and leg tanks for fertilizer, portable utility tanks and DOT classification for farm fleet use, and fertilizer-blend tank stratification walk through the DOT classification and mixing issues that catch operators off guard.
