Buy a cone bottom tank when the tank has to empty itself: fertilizer batching, polymer and flocculant make-down, brine, wastewater treatment chemicals, or any liquid that settles. The 45 degree cone drains faster and cleaner than the 15 and 30 degree cones Norwesco also makes, at the cost of height, because the steeper cone adds to the overall height and raises the outlet when the tank sits in its stand. What to check before you buy

1. The stand. N-63934, sold separately. A cone bottom tank cannot stand on its own; the stand cradles the cone at 45 degrees and lifts the outlet high enough to get a valve, a pump or a drum underneath. Order them together so they arrive together. Our cone bottom tank stand compatibility matrix lists which stand fits which tank.
2. The outlet. No outlet fitting is listed with this tank. The cone apex is where the drain goes; tell us the size you want and we fit a bulkhead fitting before it ships, or we send it loose.
3. The top opening. 16 inches, enough for a fill line, a mixer shaft or a level sensor and for a hand and a brush inside.
4. Height in the stand. The tank is 89 inches tall on its own; the stand adds to that. Measure the ceiling and the space you need under the outlet before you order.

The tank ships LTL from Norwesco's St. Bonifacius, Minnesota plant, 89 by 72 by 72 inches and 240 lb; it travels on its side on a pallet. Two people or a forklift unload it. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 44640 on the bill of lading, look over the cone apex, where transit knocks land, before signing, set the stand level on both diagonals, drop the tank in, fit the outlet valve, and fill it with water the first time.
