The Snyder Industries 1250 Gallon XLPE Heavy Duty Cone Bottom Tank is purpose-built for chemical storage and metered batch dosing where a flat-bottom tank would leave product stranded. The cone draws contents toward the center outlet for near-complete drainage, and the crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) wall carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating - the heavy-duty ceiling Snyder offers, engineered for liquids up to 1.9 times the density of water (roughly 15.8 lb per gallon). Check your chemistry's specific gravity against that 1.9 figure before you order; this is the densest rating in the line, so there is no heavier version to step up to. The tank holds 1250 gallons, stands 70 inches tall on a 95 x 95 inch footprint, and ships in Natural White so you can read the liquid level through the wall.

Will it work for your job?

Size your support stand to the full load, not the empty shell. Filled with water this tank weighs about 10,425 lb, and at its 1.9 SG rating it can carry up to roughly 19,808 lb of contents - that full rated figure is what your stand legs, anchor pads, and slab must be engineered for. Because this is a cone bottom tank, it requires a matching steel or poly stand sized to the cone angle; do not set it on a flat pad. Confirm the geometry against the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix, and use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to verify the 1250-gallon size fits your batch and footprint. Fittings are configured to order, so confirm penetration size and placement before purchase; for metered chemical feed, the level gauge selection guide walks through radar, ultrasonic, hydrostatic, and magnetostrictive options for chemical service. See the technical drawing on this page for dimensional detail.

Chemical compatibility

This is an XLPE tank rated to 1.9 specific gravity. The crosslinked wall resists environmental stress cracking and oxidizers better than standard HDPE - see Snyder XLPE vs HDPE for when crosslinking matters. The default hardware across our compatibility data is a PVC fitting with an EPDM gasket; there are exactly two exceptions, called out below - Viton gaskets on hydrofluosilicic acid and 316 stainless fittings on DEF. If you are storing diesel exhaust fluid or urea solution, this XLPE wall handles both, but spec the 316SS hardware DEF requires. Fitting and gasket materials are starting points; always verify against the manufacturer chemical-resistance chart at your exact concentration and temperature before committing. Confirmed compatible chemistries from our database include:

Cross-check every chemical against its page and the full Chemical Compatibility Database at the concentration and temperature you actually run.

Freight and ordering

The most common mistake on a tank this size is ordering the wrong resin. XLPE is not the same as HDPE: crosslinked polyethylene cannot be welded or repaired with standard plastic welding, so spec your fittings and bulkhead penetrations correctly the first time. This cone bottom tank ships LTL from Snyder's plant in Marked Tree, AR, with freight quoted live to your ZIP - get your number from the Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777. If you are pairing the tank with secondary containment, the Snyder Captor Plus 110% containment comparison covers how poly containment stacks up against UL-142 steel for SPCC duty.
