Where 140 F and 1.9 are the reason for the order

Cross-linked polyethylene is the wall for chemistry that attacks or softens a linear wall, and for liquids that arrive warm. Buy it when the liquid is dense, aggressive or warm; buy the linear black heavy duty version when it is dense but cool and benign. The pad is the same engineering as any dense duty tank on this footprint: a rotationally moulded floor bears on its whole floor, so 261,459 lb lands on the 142 inch circle. Engineer the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside containment sized to the tank. A warm liquid also moves the wall more than a cold one, so leave the freeboard the tank sizing guide calls for and check the volume against your draw in the tank sizing calculator. Band the empty shell to structure or to slab anchors before the first fill.

What to check before you buy

1. The liquid, its density and its temperature. Write all three on the wall next to the liquid's name. 1.9 and 140 F are limits; above either, tell us before you order.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off arrangement and we will confirm what this tank accepts, in what material and with what gasket, before anything is drilled. Under 257 inches of dense liquid the base fitting sits on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 257 inches above the pad: a fixed platform with a rail and a gate or a caged ladder to a landing, a permanent fill line landed at the manway, a dip tube to the floor, and the vent run outdoors on anything that fumes.

Unload with a crane or a heavy forklift, straps under the body, never a sling through the manway. Check the part number against 5380000N48 on the bill of lading. Fill it with cold water to the manway before anything warm or dense goes in, and walk the base and the containment floor while it holds.
